Users can get large funding for liquidating old boilers and installing new low-emission heating units
Ask your city office or municipal office for the rules of the low-emission program.
Depending on the municipality, the subsidy may concern not only the connection to district heating or gas heating, but also the purchase of a modern automatic coal, wood or pellet boiler (not in Krakow). Users need to use boilers that meet the ecodesign requirements for efficiency and emissions specified in the directive 2009/125/EC of 21 October 2009. The list of boilers that meet the requirements can be found on our website.
Remember o get the subsidy decision before the replacement of heating!
Municipalities have the opportunity to obtain external funds for the subsidies for residents to exchange low-carbon heating, including automatic coal and biomass boilers (e.g. wood, pellets):
- pursuant to the Regional Operational Program for the Malopolska Region for the years 2014-2020 – announcements of municipal calls are available here and here,
- pursuant to the PONE program offered by the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow.
Even if your municipality does not offer subsidies for replacing heating, you can take advantage of a preferential credit for replacement of coal boilers with gas or oil boilers provided by the Bank for the Protection of the Environment and selected co-operative banks. Upon completion of the investment, the credit will be redeemed up to 50% of the funds thanks to the funds allocated to this purpose by the Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow. Information about the preferential credit is available on the WFOŚiGW website in Krakow and directly at the banks (Bank Ochrony Środowiska – telephone number + 48 12 628 45 00).
Co-financing for thermomodernization of single-family houses
Financial support for thermomodernization of single-family buildings is provided by the Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow under the JAWOR program.
Comparison of requirements for solid fuel boilers pursuant to co-financing programs
|Type of requirements||Regional Operational Program for the Malopolska Region for the years 2014-2020||PONE WFOŚiGW Program in Cracow|
|Energy efficiency and emission requirements||Heating devices are characterized by the minimum energy efficiency and emission standards in force since the end of 2020, as set out in the implementing measures for Directive 2009/125/EC of 21 October 2009 establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products.||Boilers should meet ecodesign requirements in accordance with Directive 2009/125/EC|
|Multifuel boilers||The requirement applies to all of the fuels permitted for use in the instructions for devices||According to Commission Regulation 2015/1189, the requirement applies to all fuels permitted in the instructions for devices|
|Feeder||Boilers equipped with an automatic fuel feeder (does not apply to gasification boilers)||-|
|Emergency grate||Boilers must not have an emergency grate or components enabling the mounting of it||Boilers without the possibility of mounting an additional grate. An automatic feeder boiler with an additional grate is not eligible for funding pursuant to the Program|
|Control system||A system should be in place to control the operation of heating devices within:|
a) the obligation to liquidate the old boiler,
b) the use only the subsidized heating system as the primary source of heat in the building,
c) no unauthorized modifications done to the boiler to enable incineration of waste (e.g. additional grate),
d) adherence to fuel parameters approved by the device manufacturer in the device's operating instructions, including consent of the final customer to download and examine the fuel sample parameters,
e) ensuring proper storage conditions for the fuel to protect it against becoming wet.
|Access to heat and gas networks||Co-financing for solid fuel boilers, when connecting to the district heating network in the project area or part of the project is not planned during the program period, i.e. until 2023||Co-financing of a new coal or biomass boiler room will be possible if there is no technical possibility of connecting to the district heating network.|
