Conference for Malopolska Municipalities!
On December 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM, a conference will be held at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow as part of the project “Support for the Energy Transition of Municipalities in the Malopolska Region”, co-financed by the European Funds for Malopolska 2021–2027 programme. The event is aimed at representatives of municipalities across the region, who today face key challenges in air quality and energy management.
The coming years will bring significant legal changes, including the introduction of stricter standards under the new AAQD Directive, effective from 2030. During the meeting, the current state of air quality in the Malopolska Region will be presented, with a focus on areas expected to exceed the new standards. This will serve as an important reference point for planning corrective actions at the municipal level.
In 2026, the Malopolska Region will begin work on updating the Air Quality Plan, which is set to expire in 2026. The update will extend corrective actions for another two years and prepare the region for new obligations arising from the draft Air Quality Act. Speakers will also discuss these changes and their implications for local governments.
An important element of the conference will be presenting the role of the project “Support for the Energy Transition of Municipalities in the Malopolska Region”, which aims to assist municipalities through the development of efficient energy solutions, education, and citizen engagement in the transition process. The project responds to the growing need to support municipalities in adapting to new requirements.
Participation in the event is an excellent opportunity to acquire up-to-date knowledge, learn about upcoming obligations, and become familiar with tools that will help municipalities effectively plan actions for the coming years.
