III Distributed Energy Congress 2025
In Krakow, a nationwide forum dedicated to local energy systems, energy communities, energy clusters, the energy transition, and the role of local governments in the decarbonization process has begun.
The Distributed Energy Congress (DERC) supports the development of local initiatives and projects related to renewable energy sources (RES), contributing to a sustainable energy mix. The event includes analysis of current challenges for the energy sector and the promotion of modern solutions and technologies that support distributed energy.
The sessions were opened, among others, by Vice-Marshal Łukasz Smółka.
During DERC, the RES Potential Map implemented under the LIFE Programme will be presented. This innovative tool supports the development of renewable energy in Malopolska Region. The map allows residents and investors to check the best locations for renewable installations and the specific subsidies available in each case. The discussion will also cover how modern IT tools help implement climate actions, accelerating the energy transition in the regions.
DERC is organized by the Energy Cluster of AGH University of Science and Technology in cooperation with institutional and local government partners. The event brings together representatives from public administration, academia, business, and civil society organizations.
The guiding theme of the 2025 edition, Energy Transition – A New Beginning?, addresses current challenges and opportunities related to implementing climate and energy policy in the context of a changing regulatory and technological environment.
