Summary of LIFE Malopolska – December 2024!

The Competence Centre coordinates activities to strengthen the implementation of the Air Protection Programme. It provides continuous support and training for eco-managers in all relevant fields. The centre also develops tools to support the work of the eco-managers.

Highlights:

  • On 2 December, another conference organised by the Environmental Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Malopolska Region took place at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow. The event brought together 200 employees of municipalities and districts. The conference discussed the implementation of anti-smog resolutions, particularly in the context of the anti-smog resolution for Małopolska. Another important topic was motivational support for eco-advisors in the performance of their work.
  • On 5-6 December 2024, the conference ‘LIFE has brought us together’ took place in Kraków, bringing together over 40 representatives from 13 projects implemented under the LIFE Programme. The event created a space for the exchange of experience, dialogue and inspiration for environmental activities in Poland.
  • On 11 December, the REPowerEU conference – green energy transition for local authorities took place. The meeting was organised by the Ministry of Fund and Regional Policy and the INNOWO Institute for Innovation and Responsible Development. The event discussed the technological challenges, legal and administrative aspects and social and environmental benefits of the green energy transition.
Panel discussion
  • The Marshal of the Małopolskie Voivodeship has sent an appeal to representatives of the Polish government, including the Prime Minister, the Minister for Climate and Environment and the President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, to immediately restore the full functioning of the Clean Air Programme. In Małopolska, the Programme is the foundation for the implementation of the anti-smog resolution.
