Autumn picnic with the European Funds in Oświęcim

Report on an event full of attractions and inspiration

On Saturday, 19 October, the Market Square in Oświęcim hosted the family picnic ‘Małopolska Zachodnia – Kopalnia możliwości’ (Western Małopolska – Mine of Opportunities). In a sunny atmosphere, residents from all over the region had the chance not only to learn about the opportunities offered by the European Funds, but also to spend time in an environment full of various attractions, workshops and talks with experts.

European funds at your fingertips

The picnic was visited by representatives of the LIFE-IP projects ‘Małopolska in a healthy atmosphere’ and LIFE-IP EKOMALOPOLSKA for Climate and Energy, who invited residents to take advantage of available solutions for ‘green investments’. Specialists from the Marshal’s Office waited at information stands, sharing practical information about subsidies for replacing cookers and installing renewable energy sources, and answering questions about applying for support. Thanks to their guidance, participants learned how to successfully go through the application and settlement process – key stages that can open the door to the implementation of green projects in their homes.

Environmental quiz and competitions for children and adults

For those thirsty for entertainment and knowledge, a special ecological quiz was prepared. The test on environmental protection and the functioning of LIFE projects proved to be a great opportunity to broaden knowledge of initiatives that have a real impact on improving air quality in Małopolska region.

Western Malopolska – A mine of opportunities

The autumn picnic in Oświęcim was not only an opportunity to have a pleasant time, but also to learn more about available EU funds and projects supporting the development of the region. We are delighted that so many people took an interest in the event, which showcased the wealth of opportunities supporting environmental protection and development in Western Małopolska.

This year’s event demonstrated the importance of combining education, ecology and entertainment. We would like to thank all those who joined us in Oświęcim and look to the future together with us in the spirit of environmental protection.
