Dialogue for Małopolska Region!

The 11th meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the European Funds for Małopolska region 2021-2027 programme was held at the Małopolska Cogiteon Science Centre in Kraków, attended by Deputy Marshal of the Małopolska Region Witold Kozłowski and Chairman of the Małopolska Regional Assembly Prof. Jan Tadeusz Duda.
We are constantly discussing the future of our region, while at the same time looking after our values, traditions and regional identity. Our meeting is always a place for joint striving for beneficial solutions in matters important for the region and its inhabitants, for which I would like to thank you very much.

Commission representatives Dorota Korczyńska and Matthieu Hornung presented the commission’s priority plans for the coming years, which included sustainable construction, social affairs, investment in the education of our region’s residents and comprehensive skills upgrading.
The importance of the energy transition
One of the topics of the meeting was a discussion of Measure 2.5 Implementation of the Air Protection Programme for Project Type C – Support for the energy transformation of municipalities in Małopolskie Voivodeship. The aim of this measure is to assist municipalities in their energy transformation and to support initiatives aimed at reducing air pollutant emissions.
The energy transformation of municipalities is one of the priority tasks for Małopolska region. It aims not only to improve air quality, but also to accelerate the development of renewable energy sources (RES) and reduce the region’s dependence on traditional energy sources.
Tasks of the Committee
The Monitoring Committee, composed of representatives of various sectors, including NGOs, entrepreneurs and representatives of local governments, has the task not only to give an opinion, but also to advise on the implementation of the programme. Cooperation between these groups is essential to ensure that European funds are spent effectively and in line with the needs of the people of Małopolska. Measure 2.5 received a positive opinion from the Monitoring Committee and will be implemented by the Environment Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region from January 2025.
