How to Reduce Energy Bills? Practical Workshops for Local Governments in the Malopolska Region
Rising electricity, gas and heating costs are a major challenge for every budget. Representatives of municipalities, counties and regional government units of the Malopolska Region took part in workshops where they learned proven methods for achieving real reductions in utility bills.
The event, organised at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow, began with a summary of the implementation of the Air Quality Plan (for Malopolska Region) in 2025 and a discussion of further plans related to air quality policy.
The workshop was led by an experienced expert who has been associated with the energy sector for many years. Participants gained practical knowledge on analysing energy bills and tariffs, understanding how the energy market operates, reducing energy procurement costs, and making use of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems.
A key element of the workshop was the practical session. The speaker conducted a detailed analysis of actual billing documents for thermal energy, electricity and natural gas. During the presentation, he identified the cost items that have the greatest impact on the amount of utility bills. He also discussed procedures for cost optimisation through the proper selection of energy tariffs.
We encourage workshop participants to submit suggestions for training courses and workshops that would be particularly useful for representatives of municipalities. Ideas can be sent to: [email protected].
The event was organised as part of the project “Supporting the Energy Transition of Municipalities in the Malopolska Region.”
