LIFE 2024 Information Day

LIFE Information Days, organised by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, took place on 14 and 16 May 2024. During the two-day event, both the rules of the 2024 call and good examples of projects implemented by Polish beneficiaries were presented. Information meetings are a unique opportunity to seek inspiration and partners for your LIFE project!

Day 1 – online conference (14 May 2024).

During the first day, the 2023 call was summarised, the rules for the 2024 call were presented and the rules for co-financing the LIFE Programme from national funds (National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management) were presented. The meeting was attended by representatives of the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment (CINEA), implementing the LIFE Programme on behalf of the European Commission.

Day 2 – Stationary conference in Warsaw (16 May 2024)

During the second day, a panel discussion “LIFE 2024 Programme” was held with the participation of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Climate and Environment – Krzysztof Bolesta, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence – Cezary Tomczyk, the Minister of Environment in 1991, 2007-2010 – Prof. Maciej Nowicki, the President of the Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in 2008-2012 – Dr. Jan Rączka and the President of the Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management – Dorota Zawadzka-Stępniak.

In the second part of the meeting, projects in the sub-programmes had the opportunity to present:

  • Nature and Biodiversity (Polish Society of Friends of Nature PRO NATURA, Biebrzanski National Park, Ministry of National Defence)
  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation – (Malopolskie Voivodeship, Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, Foundation Institute for Sustainable Development)
  • Closed-loop economy and quality of life (Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas, PROZON Climate Protection Foundation
  • Transition to clean energy (National Energy Conservation Agency)

At the same time, meetings and discussions continued at the consultation stands of the National Contact Points: LIFE, Horizon Europe, Urbact.
