Visit of the monitor of the LIFE-IP project MAŁOPOLSKA

On 10 October, the Competence Centre, which carries out tasks within the framework of the LIFE-IP MAŁOPOLSKA project, hosted the project monitor, Stanisław Tworek.

The LIFE project ‘Malopolska in a healthy atmosphere’ has been coordinated by the Malopolska Voivodeship since 2015. The project involves a total of 69 partners. Among them are 62 municipalities, the Silesian Voivodeship, the Krakow Smog Alarm, the National Energy Conservation Agency and international partners. Its main objective is to accelerate the implementation of measures to improve air quality planned under the Air Protection Programme for the Małopolska Region. The value of the project is approximately €17 million (PLN 70 million), of which EU funding amounts to PLN 42 million. The project is being implemented from October 2015 until the end of 2025.

One of the objectives of the project was to create a Competence Centre at regional level. The Centre operates within the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region. It provides on-going support and training for Eco-advisors in all relevant fields identified in the Air Protection Programme.

LIFE project activities are regularly evaluated by project monitor Stanislaw Tworek. This was also the case this time. During the October meeting, the LIFE-IP Małopolska project was evaluated, the progress of work was discussed, and the project’s action plan for the coming months was presented. Although the project is coming to an end, the support model developed will be continued by the Małopolska Voivodeship. The Competence Centre is proceeding with the development and subsequent implementation of the so-called After LIFE Plan, through which activities to improve air quality in the region will continue.
