‘LIFE has brought us together’ – unique conference in Krakow
On 5-6 December 2024, the conference ‘LIFE has brought us together’ took place in Kraków, bringing together more than 40 representatives of projects implemented under the LIFE Programme. The event created a space for the exchange of experience, dialogue and inspiration for environmental activities in Poland.
The conference was opened by Tomasz Pietrusiak, deputy director of the Environmental Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Malopolska Region, who emphasised the role of regional cooperation.
Krzysztof Wójcik, a representative of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), discussed, among other things, the practical aspects of seeking EU support for pro-environmental projects, including eco-innovation.
Andrzej Muter, head of the LIFE Department at the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, presented national funding opportunities for projects.

In the workshop section, each project shared achievements, good practices and challenges in managing and reporting activities.
During panel discussions, participants focused on, among other things: financial management in LIFE projects, efficient organisation of work, effective promotion of environmental activities, and planning further cooperation. Networking sessions on the second day of the conference, divided into thematic groups, fostered partnership building and the exchange of experience between regions and organisations. The ‘LIFE Joined Us’ conference was not only a meeting place for experts, but also a stimulus for new initiatives.
