Exchange of experience with the LIFE project “Podkarpackie – live and breathe”

Exchange of experience and good practices is a key element of the LIFE Project implementation. On November 30 we had the opportunity to learn about the project of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship “Podkarpackie – live and breathe”, which will inaugurate its activities in January 2024.The aim of the project is large-scale measures to improve air quality.

The meeting was attended by the Directorate of the Environmental Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region, together with representatives of the Air and Climate Protection Teams. The guests from Podkarpacie were interested in many practical aspects of the implementation of the EU project. Among other things, technical and financial issues were raised. There was also a conversation about the difficulties and challenges in the implementation of the LIFE Project and cooperation with project partners and defining bodies (EC, CINEA, National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management).

I am pleased that the beneficiaries of successive LIFE projects, want to cooperate with us and create a network for the exchange of experiences. This is important especially in the context of our neighboring regions: we can learn a lot from each other, because, after all, neither climate nor air know administrative borders.

– summed up the director of the Environmental Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Malopolska Region, Kinga Radoń.

New LIFE project “Podkarpackie – live and breathe”

The LIFE project “Podkarpackie – live and breathe” will be implemented for a period of 10 years (from January 2024 to January 2033). The main objective of the project is to accelerate the implementation of measures to improve air quality that have been planned under the Air Protection Programs. This will be possible through the implementation of good practices, including energy management at the level of municipalities, and leading to the mobilization of public and private resources aimed at improving air quality. The beneficiaries of the LIFE project will be local governments in the region, while the Podkarpackie Province will act as coordinator.
