Funding for Eco-managers in municipalities

Eco-managers are environmental specialists working in municipalities on a daily basis. The main purpose of their activities is to raise the awareness of residents about air protection and support pro-environmental activities. Thanks to their participation in the LIFE program “Implementation of the Air Protection Program for the Małopolska Voivodeship – Małopolska in a Healthy Atmosphere”, Eco-managers have been operating in our province for several years. In the entire Małopolska Voivodeship, 249 eco-managers were employed in local governments at the end of 2022.

Funding of activities

The commitment and effectiveness of the activities for a cleaner and healthier environment have made Eco-managers an integral part of the efforts to improve air quality in Małopolska. The success and importance of the activities of these specialists are so significant that the Małopolska Province, meeting the needs of municipalities, decided to launch a program to subsidize their operation in municipalities.

The program is designed to support Eco-managers in carrying out their missions and to encourage local governments to take more measures to protect the air. We have already written more about the program here.

Under the program, funding can be provided:

  1. Analysis and monitoring of counteracting the problem of energy poverty in municipalities.
  2. Analysis and management of energy consumption in buildings, including public buildings.
  3. Purchase of equipment for ongoing advisory, educational and inventory activities.
  4. Preparation and implementation of a municipal energy transition strategy.
  5. Analysis and monitoring of counteracting the problem of energy poverty in municipalities.
  6. Analysis and management of energy consumption in buildings, including public buildings.
  7. Purchase of equipment for ongoing advisory, educational and inventory activities.

The maximum value of funding is PLN 500,000 per municipality. Maximum funding percentage: 85%. Local government units, their unions and associations can apply for the funds. The total pool of funds provided in the project is nearly PLN 90 million.

Recruitment to the program began on June 29 and will last until December 29 this year.
