Launch of Coordination Meetings for Municipalities in the Malopolska Region
The planned amendments to the regulations of the Air Quality Plan (for Malopolska Region) and its implementation were the main topics of the meeting inaugurating a series of events organised under the European Funds for Małopolska 2021–2027 (FEM) 2.5.C project “Support for the Energy Transition of Municipalities in the Malopolska Region.” Representatives of municipalities from the Krakow Metropolis took part in the meeting.
An important part of the event was the presentation of good practices implemented by the Municipalities of Skawina and Zabierzów. Representatives of the local authorities shared their experience in implementing anti-smog measures, cooperating with residents, conducting inspections, and delivering support programmes for the replacement of heating sources.
The second part of the meeting took the form of a discussion. The most significant challenges related to the implementation of air quality improvement measures were addressed. The topics raised most frequently included issues concerning the accuracy and timeliness of data in the Central Register of Building Emissions (CEEB), declining interest in the “Clean Air” programme, difficulties in reaching residents in need of support, and the need to further enhance cooperation and the exchange of good practices among local governments.
The meeting inaugurated a series of coordination events aimed at creating a platform for sharing experiences, presenting effective solutions, and jointly developing approaches to implementing activities related to the energy transition and air quality improvement in municipalities across the Malopolska Region.
