Meeting on the Clean Air Priority Programme is over!

On 29 September this year, a meeting was held at the Home Army Museum with representatives of Małopolska municipalities on the implementation of the Clean Air Programme.

The meeting was attended by representatives of municipalities, as well as the Marshal’s Office, National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEPWM) and Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (VFEPWM) in Krakow. The main purpose of the meeting was to develop solutions ensuring an increase in the number of applications submitted to the Clean Air Programme. The new rules of the Clean Air Programme require greater involvement of the municipal in order to help the inhabitants take advantage of the subsidies for the replacement of inefficient heating sources. The meeting was attended by municipalities that have so far recorded a low level of furnace replacements within the Clean Air Programme.

The meeting was divided into two parts. In the first part the issues of the functioning of the Clean Air Programme and the obligations of the municipalities resulting from the Air Protection Programme and the anti-smog resolution for Małopolska were presented. The second part of the meeting was a workshop. The representatives of municipalities indicated their remarks and suggestions concerning the functioning of the Clean Air Programme and reported the difficulties in the implementation of the assumptions of the Air Protection Programme and the anti-smog resolution for Małopolska. In addition, they presented the beneficiaries comments related to filling in the forms and the challenges arising from the unregulated legal status of real estate. Representatives of municipalities suggested changes that will increase the number of applications submitted to the Clean Air Programme, while fulfilling the requirements of the anti-smog resolution for Małopolska. Representatives of relevant institutions responded to all comments and proposals. The discussion was summarised by the President of VFEPWM in Krakow as well as by the Directors of the Department of Environment of the Municipal Urban and Rural Development and the Department of Clean Air of the NFEPWM. The representatives of the municipalities declared continuation of the adopted strategy of air protection in the region.
